Joy Garza

Joy started her career in Mountain View in 1998 as a Community Service Officer for Mountain View Police Department then continued to Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety as a Public Safety Officer. She later owned and operated a health and fitness business in Gilroy for several years, was a health instructor for close to 20 years and a Police Academy Instructor in physical fitness. Joy worked as the Law Enforcement Program Coordinator for South Bay Regional Public Safety Training Consortium for several years managing government agency partnerships and programs.

Joy is the prior Executive Director for MVPSF and has 25 years continuing knowledge and understanding of public safety issues, 11 years of marketing experience, public safety training and policy making. She’s worked closely with local, state and federal agencies in the Bay Area, developed training guidelines and delivered public safety training programs. Joy has an AA in Criminal Justice, a BS in Public Safety and Emergency Management and is a graduate of Leadership Mountain View and a graduate of the Leadership Institute at the Center of Excellency in Nonprofits.

She has an adult daughter, resides in Gilroy with her husband Eddie and their young daughter.
