Ross Dargahi

Ross is an entrepreneur and investor and one of the founding members of Mountain View Public Safety Foundation. Born in Brighton, England, Ross came to Silicon Valley to work in technology. Ross was a co-founder and VP of Product Development at Zimbra; a software company acquired by Yahoo! in October 2007. Previously, Ross was Director of Engineering and Director of Product Management with the Messaging Products Group at Openwave Systems. He joined Openwave in 2000 as part of the acquisition of Onebox where he was a founding engineer and senior architect. Ross founded Volt Ventures in Mountain View in 2011 with the mission of providing advisory and capital resources to entrepreneurs across disparate industries.

Ross also held senior positions at Sun Microsystems, Knight-Ridder Information, The Baylor College of Medicine’s Medical Informatics and Computing Research Program, The Keck Center for Computational Biology, and Rice University. Ross earned his BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Houston.

Ross became interested in public safety training and development after taking time off to train on the east coast. Ross is passionate about public safety and helped to found MVPSF in 2013 along with Tony Siress and Pete DeLaOssa. Ross understands the importance of community and corporate support towards public safety needs is crucial for safe communities, collaboration and success.
