Pete DeLaOsssa was born and raised in Mountain View and started his police career in 1980 joining the Mountain View Police Department. Pete held assignments as a Field Training Officer (FTO), traffic/motorcycle officer, robbery/homicide detective, narcotics/vice detective, personnel & training, Police Sergeant and Department of Justice (DOJ) Major Crimes Unit Supervisor in Santa Clara County. Pete held all leadership positions within the Mountain View Police Officer’s Association including serving as President from 1992 to 1994.
Pete understands the challenges and needs of public safety departments: resources, training, development, equipment, and the need for communities and businesses to support and fund additional programs. Pete’s devotion to the public safety life and his career inspired the inception of MVPSF. Pete and the founders believe that community and corporate support provide the availability of additional resources, training, programs and equipment vital to providing quality service to the community they serve.
Bruce Barsi was born and raised in Mountain View/Los Altos where he currently resides with his wife Suzanne. He graduated from Saint Francis High School and San Jose State University. Bruce retired as a Captain from the Mountain View Police Department following a thirty-year career in law enforcement.
He is a member and past President of the Mountain View Rotary Club. He serves as a Board Member and is also a Past Board President of the Community Health Awareness Council (CHAC). He is a member and past Chair of the Mountain View Los Altos Community Roundtable and is also active in the Challenge Team and CSA.
Bruce along with Steve Mellow started the Thanksgiving food drive Cops & Gobblers with 15 baskets in 1998. Cops & Gobblers now serves over 400 families each year! In his spare time, Bruce enjoys many outdoor activities including skiing, snowboarding, biking and hiking.
Mick is a retired Captain from the Mountain View Police Department following a 30-year career in law enforcement. He has remained active in the community and has been involved with Mountain View Police Activities League (MVPAL) volunteering since 2010 along with his wife, Julene and daughter Alyssa who have also been involved with MVPAL.
Mick is currently the Chair for MVPAL and works in collaboration with the Mountain View Police Department’s Youth Services Unit to run day to day operations, delivering programs and activities to the Mountain View youth.
In his free time, Mick enjoys traveling with his wife and outdoor activities including golfing, fishing, biking, and hiking.
Keith was born and raised in the local community where he currently resides with his wife and son. He started his law enforcement career as a cadet with the Mountain View Police Department in 1984. In 1985 Keith worked as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office and as a Reserve Police Officer with MVPD. In 1986, Keith joined the Newark Police Department for four years.
In 1990, Keith returned to MVPD, retiring as the rank of Lieutenant in 2015. He has stayed active with the Mountain View Police Department and currently holds the position of Reserve Police Officer.
Keith is a graduate from Saint Francis High School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Long Beach and an Associate of Arts degree from De Anza College.
Debbie has demonstrated her love and commitment to the Mountain View Community for over twenty years. She has been a mentor to many young professionals and her dedication to Mountain View is unmatched.
Debbie has been involved in numerous organizations throughout the city including: the Chamber of Commerce, Police Activities League, CHAC, CSA, CSMA, Quota Club, Red Cross, United Way, LMV, Jerry Rice Foundation, Mountain View Library Task Force, Rotary, MV Education Foundation and Leadership Mountain View.
She was honored with “Business Person of the Year Award” by the Chamber of Commerce in 2009. Debbie has also received awards from Nordstrom, Clear Channel and SFX. She is currently the San Francisco Market Director at Live Nation.
Joy Garza started her career in Mountain View in 1998 as a Community Service Officer and went on to be a Public Safety Officer in Sunnyvale. She owned and operated a business in Gilroy for several years, was also a health instructor for 19 years and a Police Academy Instructor in physical fitness.
Joy has 8 years of marketing experience and 10 years of experience in public safety training and coordinating. She’s worked closely with local, state and federal agencies in the Bay Area, and developed training and delivered public safety training programs. Joy earned an AA in Criminal Justice and a BS in Public Safety and Emergency Management.
She has an adult daughter and is newly married to Eddie. Joy and Eddie reside in Gilroy and recently welcomed a new baby in 2019.
Amber Wilson is a long time Mountain View resident. She has worked at the Mountain View Police Department for the last 12 years where she is a Records Specialist, and recently took on an additional assignment as the Court Liaison for the department.
Amber has been giving back to the community for the last 12 years while being a major contributor in the annual MV POA Cops and Gobblers Thanksgiving food drive. Amber has been involved with the Mountain View Public Safety Foundation since its inception.
In her spare time, when she is not running after her two beautiful children, she enjoys outdoor adventures with her family, traveling, attending concerts and working her successful skincare business.
Greg Calcagno is the Alumni Director and Head Football Coach at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View. As Alumni Director, Greg is part of the Institutional Advancement Team and responsible for raising money to help with financial aid for the students and capital campaigns.
As the Head Football Coach, Greg serves as a role model and mentor to 175 student athletes involved in the football program. Prior to his work at Saint Francis, Greg served in the payment processing space with PaymentOne (VP-Product Mgmnt), Integretel (Dir of Products and Marketing) and prior to that was the President and CEO of a startup (SecureBill).
Greg graduated from Santa Clara University, received his MBA from San Jose State and attended Saint Francis High School along with his wife (Ann) and 5 children.
Over the last 2 decades, Kathy Granger has been a part of the boards of over a dozen non-profit organizations. During her time on these boards, she has held the position of president, treasurer, and secretary. Kathy currently is on the board of 2 non-profit boards.
Professionally, Kathy spent several years working for a large global management consulting and technology services company and then a larger financial services company.
In 2017, Kathy started her own financial services company, supporting the financial needs of companies in the food and communications industries, as well as multiple non-profit organizations.
Bruce Humphrey is the Former President/CEO of the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce and prior Ambassador Strategic Outreach Coordinator/Director, Strategic Initiatives for the 63rd Regional Support Command, in Mountain View.
Bruce is a 23-year Air Force Veteran, with over 12 years of overseas service. His awards and decorations include, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Achievement Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 7 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award with 2 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 6 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with 1 service star, Kosovo Campaign Medal with 1 service star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Service Medal.
Bruce also currently serves on the board of Community Services Agency (CSA) in Mountain View.
Crystal Ienni is the founder and CEO of Peace Officer Wives of California Inc., Faith.Wife.Hero. Crystal is an author with Law Enforcement Today and speaker. She is a trained Peer Support Member and an advocate for healthy law enforcement marriages and homes.
Crystal is married to a Mountain View Police Officer and has 3 vibrant kids. As a family, they have participated for the last seven years with various programs like Cops & Gobblers, Cops that Care, and volunteered with the PAL summer program, Dreams and Futures.
Crystal brings encouragement to raise mental health awareness and support for public safety in hopes of decreasing divorce, suicide, depression, and PTSD among the Peace Officer and their families.
Max was appointed Police Chief on August 4, 2014. He started his law enforcement career with the Millbrae Police Department in 1989 and joined the Mountain View Police Department in December 1995.
Bosel has led all three divisions of the department, served as Interim Deputy Police Chief, as well as Interim Assistant City Manager and Interim City Manager. A graduate of the FBI National Academy, Bosel holds a Master of Public Administration from Notre Dame de Namur University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from Saint Mary’s College of California.
Max Bosel is also a graduate of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government’s Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program, the California POST Supervisory Leadership Institute, Leadership Mountain View and the University of Southern California’s Delinquency Control Institute.
Juan Diaz has been a fire service professional for twenty-nine years. He began his career in 1985 as a Santa Clara City Volunteer Reserve Firefighter, serving with them for over five years. Then in January 1989, he joined the San Jose Fire Department as a firefighter.
During Chief Diaz’s twenty-five year career with San Jose, he was promoted from Firefighter to Engineer, Inspector, Captain, Battalion Chief and Deputy Fire Chief. Additionally, for over eight years, he served on multiple administrative assignments including Community Wildland-Urban-Interface Captain, Fire Prevention Officer, Line Training Officer and Battalion Chief Department Safety Officer.
Chief Diaz has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management. Juan is a certified Chief Officer under the State of California Fire Marshal’s Office and holds other specialized training certifications.
Tony is the founding President of Mountain View Public Safety Foundation. Tony, a third-generation Mountain View resident, is a Santa Clara University graduate. Tony received his bachelor’s degree in commerce, and went on to complete the Strategic Marketing program at Stanford’s School of Business. He is also a certified software engineer and developer.
Tony has been a leading technology and business-model problem solver as well as an idea architect in Silicon Valley. Tony founded his first company while attending Santa Clara University. After graduating, he began his career at Sun Microsystems as a Systems Engineer and was soon advancing through the company. Tony’s second company was Tidalwave Technologies, which was acquired by Veritas. At Veritas, Tony was the company’s Director of International Sales for Japan, and later, the Far East. Tony rejoined Sun Microsystems and advanced through the divisions, culminating in senior directorships. Tony left Sun in 2004 to start Siress AG Consulting, where his focus is on applying his experience to help entrepreneurs reach the full potential with their products.
Tony served as the President and CEO of Mountain View Chamber of Commerce. Tony was born and raised in Mountain View. Through his love and support of public safety, Tony helped to found Mountain View Public Safety Foundation in 2013 in the hopes to bring awareness to the community to support public safety and their increasing needs.
Ross is an entrepreneur and investor and one of the founding members of Mountain View Public Safety Foundation. Born in Brighton, England, Ross came to Silicon Valley to work in technology. Ross was a co-founder and VP of Product Development at Zimbra; a software company acquired by Yahoo! in October 2007. Previously, Ross was Director of Engineering and Director of Product Management with the Messaging Products Group at Openwave Systems. He joined Openwave in 2000 as part of the acquisition of Onebox where he was a founding engineer and senior architect. Ross founded Volt Ventures in Mountain View in 2011 with the mission of providing advisory and capital resources to entrepreneurs across disparate industries.
Ross also held senior positions at Sun Microsystems, Knight-Ridder Information, The Baylor College of Medicine’s Medical Informatics and Computing Research Program, The Keck Center for Computational Biology, and Rice University. Ross earned his BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Houston.
Ross became interested in public safety training and development after taking time off to train on the east coast. Ross is passionate about public safety and helped to found MVPSF in 2013 along with Tony Siress and Pete DeLaOssa. Ross understands the importance of community and corporate support towards public safety needs is crucial for safe communities, collaboration and success.
