  • Emphysema
  • Prostate Disease
  • Heart Disease
  • Cancer
  • Kidney & Gall Stones
  • Osteoporosis
  • Aneurysms
  • Benign Tumors
  • Ovarian Disease
  • Endocrine Disease

“I am ever so thankful for the body scan I was able to have done at a discount cost. Thanks to MVPSF helping to offset the cost by 75% for department employees. I had my body scan done in 2018 and was only 37.

Many people including my doctor said I should avoid such a scan and it was not necessary at my age.  However, with my family’s health history I felt that this could be a way to detect something much earlier if I did have any medical concern.

I received my results a week after the scan. The results showed I had a mass in one of my breasts, detected abnormalities in my heart – again I was only 37, ate well, exercised, and had no previous history of heart issues ever. This was alarming! The body scan also detected a thyroid concern.  Had I not been offered the opportunity to have this expensive body scan done, I would have not known any of those serious medical problems for many years to come.

I am thankful for the preventative body scan that encouraged me to seek medical help and tests for health issues I had no idea I had. Talk about a life changing moment for me. “ – A.M., MVPD staff
